Manus

Manus (Butterfly Effect) is an AI agent product company whose general-purpose AI agent product Manus went viral in 2025. After a planned acquisition by Meta at a valuation of about $2 billion was called off in 2026, Manus announced on September 1 that it would resume independent operations. Bloomberg reported on September 17, 2026 that Manus is close to completing a new funding round of about $500 million, doubling its valuation to roughly $4 billion, which would make it the highest-valued startup in China's AI agent sector. Potential investors include IDG Capital, Boyu Capital, and CATL, alongside existing shareholders Tencent, HSG, and ZhenFund (the deal has not yet closed and terms may change).
